Domestic Violence, Youth Violence, Women and Crime, Comparative Criminal Justice Systems, and Evaluative Research Methods
Sesha Kethineni is a Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice Sciences. In her 16 years of teaching at Illinois State University (ISU), she has taught courses in Introduction to Criminal Justice, Juvenile Justice, Comparative Criminal Justice, World Criminal Justice Systems, Family Violence, and Evaluation Research Methods. Her research has largely focused on domestic violence, comparative juvenile justice, international drug policies, and female offenders in India. Her recent works include female homicide offending in India, status of children in India, victim and offender characteristics and protective orders in domestic violence cases in the United States, and youth-parent-battering. Her co-authorized book titled, “Comparative Delinquency: India and the United States,” received the 1997 Distinguished Book Award by the International Division of American Society of Criminology. Dr. Kethineni has also received the College of Applied Science and Technology’s (ISU) Outstanding Researcher Award.
