Criminal Justice Policy, Gender and Justice, Prisoner Re-entry
Dawn Beichner is an assistant professor and graduate coordinator in the Criminal Justice Sciences department. She is also a Women's and Gender Studies faculty affiliate. Her research interests include sexual assault case processing, victimization of wmen and women offenders in the criminal justice system. One of her current research projects centers on the role of family reunification on fomerly incarcerated women's successful re-entry into society. She teaches Women & Criminal Justice, INdivicuals, Society & Criminal Jusice, and a graduate Issues in Justice course. She also serves as the faculty advisor to the Social Justice Project, a multi-disciplinary student organization that promotes awareness of social justice issues and investigates allegations of wrongful conviction.
