The Scholarship Resource Office in the Financial Aid Office provides assistance to prospective and current students in identifying scholarship resources that could help fund their educational costs.
The office is located in Fell Hall, room 231 and is available to students and parents without an appointment or may be contacted at (309)438-2740.
Students interested in seeking part-time employment may search both on and off campus employment opportunities using the Illinois State University Jobs Web site . On campus positions require students to be enrolled in at least 6 semester hours during the semester.
Students interested in applying for a graduate assistantship should use the Graduate Research Assistant and Graduate Practicum. Graduate assistants help with faculty research, support faculty with the administration of undergraduate courses, and help supervise student testing. Typically each assistant is assigned to two faculty members, each for ten hours per week. Some graduate assistants can be placed with criminal justice agencies as part of their assistantship (Practica). Practica students work twenty hours per week, including days while school is not in session. Graduate assistantships cover full-tuition plus a monthly stipend.
Army ROTC provides college-trained officers for the Army, Army Reserve, and National Guard. As the largest single source for Army officers, the ROTC program fulfills a vital role in preparing mature young men and women for leadership and management positions in an increasingly technical Army. Illinois residents can compete for state ROTC tuition waivers during undergraduate and graduate programs. The ROTC department has 40 of these waivers active during each semester.
