omprehensive Exams
Comprehensive Exams are offered two times a year (Fall and Spring) . Students are required to take all four exams together and have two chances to successfully complete all four exams. Notice: Please submit your completed form to the Graduate Director (Dr. Dawn Beichner) at least two weeks prior to the start of the exams. If you decide not to take the exams after completing this form, it is considered as fail on the exams. Exceptions are only allowed for emergencies.

- CJS 400: Independent Study (4 hours)
- CJS 401: Criminological Theory (Fall)
- CJS 412: Correctional Systems (Fall)
- CJS 497: Introduction to Research (Fall)
- CJS 402: Issues in Justice (Spring)
- CJS 415: Policing and Society (Spring)
- CJS 421: Management Issues (Spring)
- CJS 440: Statistical Applications in CJS (Spring)
- 9 Hours of Electives
Students are required to take comprehensive exmainations in:
- Research and statistical reasoning
- Management
- Criminological theories
- Elective (with prior approval from Graduate Advisor)
- List of Electives: Sex Offenders, Women & Criminal Justice, Victimology, World Criminal Justice, Race and Crime, Rules of Evidence, and Org. and White-Collar Crime.
